• How can I get more advice or information? Simply fill in your details in the enquiry form in the ‘Contact Us’ section and we will make contact to discuss your enquiry in more detail. • I want trees for my back garden but have no access except through the house. Is this a problem? Despite their large size the root ball of the trees is quite small and can generally fit through an average door. The branches can also be tied in to make the tree more compact. So this is not necessarily a problem. Larger trees are very heavy and difficult to manoeuvre so it is best to discuss your particular situation with us in advance. • How can I purchase a big tree? Please fill out an enquiry form in the 'Contact Us" section and we will phone you for an initial discussion. You can also telephone us on 052 744 22 22. • How long will delivery take? Generally delivery is within a week but our friendly staff will advise you in more detail. • How much is delivery? Delivery cost depends on a number of factors, quantity of trees, location and tree size. Our sales team will advise you on all cost involved. • How can I get advice on what tree is right for me? Just drop us a line and we’ll give you all the advice you need. • Are trees always in stock? Whilst we do our best to keep the website updated we can run out of stock of certain items. In this event we will offer an alternative that most closely matches your requirements. • How old are big trees? The trees vary in age. All of the trees are at least five years old while some of the larger sizes are 10 to 15 years of age. • What weight are the trees? Obviously this depends on the size of the tree. Most of the weight is in the root ball. The smaller sizes weigh some 75Kg whilst the larger ones can weigh a quarter of a ton. • Do trees need special attention after planting? It is critically important that trees are watered, particularly in the first few years after they are planted. Your landscaper will advise you. • What care have the trees received in the nursery? During their time in the nursery, trees are lifted and planted in a new location every two to three years. This encourages the creation of a dense, compact root ball close to the trunk. Wider spacing provides room for the expansion of branches and stems. If trees are not regularly moved, the roots expand over a wide area and these would be severely damaged when the tree is lifted causing it to die. Regular pruning and feeding of the trees is also carried out to ensure strong balanced growth. Wider spacing provides room for the expansion of branches and stems. • How are trees transported? Prior to being transported, the root ball of the tree is wrapped in hessian sacking and bound together in a wire net. The branches are then tied in towards the main trunk to protect them during transportation. A forklift is used to load the trees onto a truck which is then used to transport the trees to their new site. • Are the trees grown in Ireland? 90% of our trees are grown in Ireland. From time to time it may be necessary to source specific requirements from abroad. • Do I need to feed a big tree? Big trees will benefit from liquid feeding particularly in the first few years after planting when the roots are expanding in their new planting positions. Of greater importance is the necessity to water the trees during the first few years in their new planting positions. |
